Information Meeting on Canaan Street Lake Canaan Street Lake is presently free of milfoil and algae blooms but is under the same threat of invasion as any other lake in the region. It is also the water source for downtown Canaan. Because of the extra sensitivity this represents, a coalition of interested parties have joined together to help protect the lake. The Canaan Conservation Commission, the town Water Source Protection Committee, the Canaan Lake Association, Cardigan Mountain School and the Upper Valley Land Trust are jointly hosting their second annual community information meeting to discuss the threats and give an update on what is being done by each organization, as well as help folks in attendance learn what they can do to help protect the lake. The meeting is free and open to the community. For more information call 603-523-9668 or 603-523-4321. Co-op Producers Fair This is the Co-op Food Stores' annual celebration of Upper Valley growers and food producers. It features free food samples, music, hayrides, games for kids, and more! UVLT will be there promoting new water bottles that will be sold by the Co-op with a portion of the profits going to UVLT's land conservation efforts. |
