The Photo Exhibit is on display now for the months of November and December.

UVLT Welcomes Maggie Stoudnour

From an early age, Maggie has loved spending time in nature. As a child growing up in Maine, she spent many summer nights collecting fireflies, many spring days looking for tadpoles in the pond behind her house, and many hours clambering around on the rocky coast searching for life in tide pools.

After spending several years on the north coast of California, Maggie has returned to her native New England with her husband and three year old son, and is thrilled to be putting her skills to use for UVLT. She will be developing school and family field trip programs at the Lyme Hill Wetlands site, as well as an Upper Valley Naturalist Training program for adults.

Maggie has over a decade of experience in the field of environmental education, and is passionate about place-based learning. She believes strongly that educating people about the natural world around them in a fun, hands-on way will develop stronger connections to the environment and inspire stewardship.

Maggie will likely be out more than in the UVLT office but, if you see her here on your next visit , say hello!  We are happy to have her!

Stewardship Challenges: Irene donates fuel to UVLT!

The UVLT Stewardship Staff has seen a lot of oddities over the years while monitoring conservation easements, but nothing could have prepared us for the unusual challenge that lay in store for us after Irene made its mark in our region.
