Vernal Pools Hike at Tunis**

Peepers, Salamanders, and Toads, Oh My!
Join UVLT Staff for an exciting hike through Tunis Conservation Area to find the local vernal pool and its inhabitants. While we hike, we will discuss the importance of vernal pools and why we need to protect them for critters like the local amphibians. Along the way, keep an eye out for moose scat, round-leaved violets, pileated woodpeckers, and barred owls, all of which were recently spotted on the trail!
Meet us at the dirt pull off of Tunis Road. From Wolfeboro road, travel about ½ mile to the dirt pull off on the left hand side of the road. UVLT event signs will be present.
Wear muck boots! It’s soggy out there.
**From the Goose Pond Road/Wolfeboro Road intersection, take Wolfeboro Road easterly to Tunis Road, turn south on Tunis Road and look for UVLT event signs on the left about a 1/2 mile south. Park on the left side of the road.
