Do you know you can discover how healthy a stream is by examining its “stream bugs”? On Wednesday, October 14, Connecticut River Conservancy’s Aquatic Ecologist and UVLT’s Naturalist and Outdoor programs leader will lead a benthic macroinvertebrate survey at Lyme Hill Conservation Area and you are invited to join the fun! We will use kick nets to collect macroinvertebrates from the stream along Storybrook trail at the Lyme Hill Conservation Area and identify what we collect to learn about stream health and biodiversity. The event will run from 9:30 – 12:30 pm. Meet at the Lyme Hill Conservation Area parking lot on Route 10. Space is limited.
