A Good Summer at Smith Pond Shaker Forest
We’ve been busy at Smith Pond Shaker Forest! In July staff and volunteers spent a day on a remote peninsula clearing out debris from an old cabin. Complete with a kitchen sink, volunteers paddled debris to shore for removal.
Then in August seven volunteers from the Tuck Builds program of the Tuck School of Business helped UVLT staff to build a mile of new trails on the property and repair another mile.
A partnership with Audubon Vermont provided an overview of the birds potentially using the property and intern Jenny Moffet designed an exhibit about the history and natural resources of our property, which will be installed at the Enfield Shaker Museum.
