Members of the Norwich community and friends of the Rieser family turned out to celebrate the establishment of the Rosemary Rieser Trail and the conservation of Sample’s Woods on June 22. Chris Rimmer and George Clark led a bird walk before a 9AM gathering at the Norwich Inn where Abby, Tim and Len Reiser signed the conservation easement deed and shared memories of the land they have conserved. Peg Merrens, UVLT Vice President, Land Conservation, described the generosity of the Riesers, the outpouring of local support for the project and the role of the Upper Valley Trails Alliance as a partner in conserving the land and trail.
